My editor liked the material except he wanted me to turn part of it into scenes. I thought that was pretty impossible, that I didn’t remember enough tiny details. But lo and behold, he said start with a blank page. And in fact, there came the scenes. So it’s made that part of the book much better. Bravo for editors who are so confident and so right that when they say turn this into a scene, a scene just  pours out. Anyway, I was so invested in keeping the Hunter letters untouched – reprinted in their own atmosphere – that I was short on scenes, which readers these days expect. So now I’m very pleased to have dipped way back into my mind and found those extra touches that complement the straight history. The book should be out, in ebook format, by around March if all goes well.
